I am very excited about writing this post today! It has been almost 2 years now since I started to envy other Wedding Stationers having a feature in Wedding Magazines and this month I too now appear amongst some of the best in the business. I was so excited when Jennifer the Editor of Your Bristol and Somerset Wedding Magazine contacted me asking if I could provide some images for their feature on Wedding Stationery and of course I was more than happy to oblige!
I ordered my copy of Your Bristol and Somerset Wedding Magazine which landed on my doormat this morning showcasing 4 of Chichi Designs Wedding Invites from our online boutique! Have a little gander at this....?

Wedding Experience Days!
With almost exactly one year now until my own big day - I am getting in an even more wedding-y mood! I am so completely over the moon and I can't wait to see all my ideas turn into a reality.
Sometimes I wish I could do a mini mock up of how everything will be planed and laid out.
As a creative, I do have a vivid and wild imagination and can visualise colour and the overall look quite well in my head BUT I do know many brides struggle with making what is in their head a reality and there are other brides I know are desperate to find ideas for refreshing wedding themes because they dare to be different!
Well, Your Big Day in Devizes has now come to the rescue with hosting - what they call - 'Wedding Experience Days'. Carefully designed and creatively executed themed wedding Tables are set up at various wedding venues across Wiltshire this month for Couples to experience the ambience and look and feel of a pop up wedding venue. Your Big Day promote all the suppliers that make these experience days happen and brides and grooms and book appointments with the vendors who appeal to them!

A Bite of Delight Photo Shoot
I've sort of worked in reverse with this little job. Today was photo shoot number 3 for A Bite of Delight and have ended up retouching these delightful fondant cakes first! My personal fav cakes appear in Photo shoots 1 and 2 so I will keep you all in suspense and will show you the finished articles in due course! A Bite of Delight is a gorgeous business, run by Melanie who is also based in Warminster. She is a lady who is so passionate about baking and creating beautiful handmade cakes. She uses the finest ingredients that is sourced locally where ever possible and are finished to perfection - all her cakes are truly stunning!!! Melanie really understands table styling and theming as well as knowing what's hot in the world of weddings, parties, lunches and soirées. So here's a sneak peak of my 3rd photo shoot - stayed tuned for 1 and 2 in the coming weeks! A Bite of Delight Website is currently being built By Eclipse Creative, my fathers business so I will be giving you the exclusive on that when the stunning website is launched also in the coming weeks - for now though - get your taste buds watering with some of these delicious delights!

The Chichi Boutique
Yesterday was a really 'big day' for Chichi!
We now have a little shop front/ exhibition at Your Big Day in Devizes. It is a must-see for all Brides-to-be who are getting married or planning a party or celebration in or around Wiltshire.
Allan and Jackie from Your Big Day got in touch with me back in May when they saw my exhibition at The Bishopstrow House Wedding Fayre in Warminster. I was then invited to visit them, and I was so impressed with the concept, the shop and the overall look and feel I wanted to be a part of it - it is a delightful space where you can experience, touch, feel and taste the products or services available - they describe it as a living magazine. As a bride-to-be myself I was instantly in my element! Like a little girl in a sweet shop!!!
Your Big Day is a little like a permanent, all year round wedding fayre, it hosts an abundance of wedding suppliers: wedding dresses, jewellery, photographers, cakes etc. and of course most importantly now - Stationery!!!! There's already another Stationer present but we both bring something different to the table!
Unlike a wedding fayre you don't get forced into the big unwanted sales pitch you are often faced with when you meet a supplier. Here, you browse the stands at your leisure and one of the lovely people at Your Big day will be your guide giving you the lo down on all the suppliers that are of interest to you.
Hopefully, there will be something special there for your big day and then a consultation can be arranged with the supplier at the Your Big Day show room where there is a beautiful area with comfy sofas so you can discuss your requirements!
So we have now set up shop - so to speak - our first little Chichi Boutique. I have lots of ideas for adding to my display and I have lots of new work I am dying to get out there. I am also wanting to test out some new styling ideas and my new caption boards which are a cool new trend for those funky, offbeat wedding photographs!
As you can see, we are set up on a pretty shabby-chic bureaux! I love it! Goes so well with the whole stationery theme!

To close
Your Big Day are hosting Wedding Experience Days over the next four Sundays! These are not Wedding Fayres as such but a virtual wedding breakfast! The Venues are set up as it could be on the big day and can really help to get the imagination going - it becomes so much easier to visualise what your day could be like.
Chichi Designs Stationery will be on display helping to illustrate some very fresh, off beat and contemporary theming - definitely worth a visit.

Welcome to The Chichi Designs Blog
Chichi - Ostentatiously stylish, deliberately chic!
I started Chichi Designs last January in 2009 and shortly after in May launched the Chichi Designs Website dedicated to stylish couture Wedding Stationery. There are two aspects to the current site - The Boutique - where customers can choose from off the peg designs and customise them to their individual requirements or there is The Bespoke Service - where I design and create wedding stationery that is unique and of course trés chic especially for the individual couple.
Chichi Designs is my project and all operations are personally conducted by myself. In addition to greetings cards and stationery I also like to do other things under my Chichi Guise - Commercial and Wedding Photography is a big passion of mine and I also freelance as a commercial designer, which I will also share with you on this blog in my future posts.
Anyway, Back to the Stationery
All my stationery is lovingly made and hand finished with special treasures I source from my secret treasure troves. I love the quirky and the kitsch, blousy blooms, trinkets and charms. I love textures and colour to make your heart flutter. What is more I love the fact that special events and weddings gives me as a designer the excuse and opportunity to create stationery that can be delightful and sumptuous, fragrant and sparkling yet sincere and to help make Someones wedding day the best day of their lives.
Right so that's my first little ramble done. I hope I will settle in to this blog malarkey - I am still very much finding my feet and my way around all the settings. I will try and make my next post much more exciting with pictures and links - oooo very snazzy!
For now though, xx
